WOODS – LEUVEN
A new building on the head of the new Belle-vue park between rail and Kessel-Lo. A nod in the building creates an elegant sharply volume, with the rhythmically striking facade elements adding their own game. Built-in terraces on the side of the road bring depth into the facade, while large windows on the building heads provide for openness. Four facades each with their own character but connected by the rhythm of the panels. The finely detailed green acidified concrete combines with bronze joinery to a stylish whole that matches the green parklint. On each floor there are about twenty-one high-grade student rooms, 157 in total, and on the head are the common areas. All windows run to the floor to pull the area into the building. The views on the track, Kessel-Lo, the station environment and the forests around Leuven form a varied background for the students.
