SEMI-DETACHED HOUSE Machelen
The existing property will be maximally integrated into this new composition as a server or basic space with entrance hall, garage, storage room, bathroom, and bedrooms. All round there is the new living space, kitchen, dining space and bathroom with maximum attention to reconciliation of both spaces to one logical and structured whole. The clearly glazed addendum angle at the front of the house serves as a light funnel and light shaft to the empty spaces, bathroom, night hall, kitchen and entrance hall which lie behind it. It is a southern-oriented touch in order to enhance the liveability of the house, just as the light trap at the rear on the terrace. This light space is primordially to reconcile the living space and sitting area on the north in an acceptable manner and quality. Brick work in a sand grey colour consolidates old and new in a tight, uniform whole.
