Oosteroever stands for audacious urban development. With this competition winning design we create a statement and landmark on this extraordinary location and an added value for man and city. One Baelskaai is the symbol for the new Ostend charm at Oosteroever. This project incorporates the character of the site: harbor and seaside. The undulations of the building relate to the wavy character of dunes and sea. Wavy continuous glazed balustrades reflect light air and water. The undulating lines and the materialization of the terraces refer to the present dune landscape. Hereby the profiled facade cladding recalls the image of dune grasses and wooden wind screens. With this an easy resort vibe for its residents is created, related to the nearby yacht club. The undulating terrace bands delineate the building making the building appear as an elegant bolide. Combined with natural material tints such as sand color, bronze and wooden terraces and a sharp detailing this results in an exceptional project with a warm, classy appearance, unique at the Belgian coast and beyond.
