Design for the construction of a detached notary office in Humbeek. The Office building is conceived as a floating pavilion, which elevates itself above ground level. To combine the opposing requirements of light and privacy, a large part of the facade is worked out as a semi-transparent screen, so that the light can get in at the same time looks of passers-by aren’t possible. Three internal patios were placed, around which the office spaces and rooms were organized. The closed facade parts were worked out in a dark vertical wooden planks, the provided garage door is also invisible. The joinery is made for black aluminium profiles.
Both the access of the Office as the access to the garage are performed in a slippery slope in brushed concrete. The design aims at a contemporary way to provide a new office space, the street on to appreciate with a contemporary architectural interpretation.
