A simple beam-shaped volume with a slightly lowered sleeping area in order to ensure maximum headroom for the living area within the prescribed maximum building height of 6 metres. The living area measures 7.00 x 12.50 m and is 3.30 m in height, interrupted only by a cube-shaped volume housing the kitchen and the home office. This volume is finished on all sides with opalescent polycarbonate sheets illuminated by fluorescent lights. At night this creates the impression of a glowing ice cube…

The living area is sealed off at the street side by industrial double-glazed window units that let in the light but do not offer a view of the less than exciting streetscape outside.

The back wall is fully glazed, providing a wonderful view of the scenic area at the back. Maximum living area with abundant natural light and air, leading on to a wooden outdoor terrace 2 metres deep and spreading the entire width of the back wall. The terrace is connected to the garden by stairs approximately 2 metres wide.
