HOUSE AND HAIRDRESSER’S Kapellen
Jo Crepain’s first assignment to construct a hairdresser’s and house on a site 3.55 metres wide. Due to a special cross-section, there is more light in the middle of the house than by the outer walls. The slanting visibility lines and the circulation patterns of the plan and lines of intersection make the rooms look much bigger than they really are. The use of concrete stone and architectural concrete ensures that the frame remains coarse and neutral, while interior designer Steven Stals’ furniture brings colour and refinement.
